What is WPSA?
The World's Poultry Science Association is a long established and unique organization that strives to advance knowledge and understanding of all aspects of poultry science and the poultry industry. Its major role is to encourage, and help facilitate, liaison among research scientists and educators, and between those in research and education and those working in the many diverse sectors of the industry. As a non-profit making organization, it relies for its income almost entirely on membership subscriptions, although a number of poultry companies around the world provide generous sponsorship to help meet some of the production costs of the World's Poultry Science Journal.
With a large and truly international membership of 8,000, the organization's objectives are promoted in various ways. These range from high-profile international congresses and conferences to the many diverse meetings organized by WPSA national branches (of which there are about 80) and two federations of branches - in Europe and in the Asia-Pacific region. Within the Association there are many working groups and committees covering various aspects of poultry science and technology. Dedication to the spread of knowledge, education and training is ranked highly amongst the interests of WPSA members. All WPSA members can attend the regularly held World Congresses and regional conferences, together with many other meetings on various aspects of poultry production and poultry science. In return for their annual subscription, members also receive the World's Poultry Science Journal four times per year.

What does the Discussion Group session refer to?
The Discussion Group session is a strong point and uniqueness of this Symposium!
As per ESPN Symposium format, during the online registration process you will be asked if interested in taking part into the Scientific Plenary Sessions Discussion Groups (DG); each Discussion Group will be chaired by a WG2 member with the aim to create an opportunity for participants coming from industry, institutions and different geografical areas/competence to mingle together and share their knowledge and experience.
Each discussion group will meet in a specific room, will discuss and prepare two/three questions relevant to the previous Plenary Sessions which will be passed on to the Session Chairman of the session for plenary discussions.
Taking part in a Discussion Group is a great opportunity for all the attendees and especially for Young Researchers to approach and create their scientific network, sharing their knowledge & contributing to plenary session discussion debate.
Participation is free of charge (included in the registration fee) and you will be informed in due time about your destination group at the conference; we kindly ask responsibility when confirming the willingness to take part, as the spread into groups of the attendees will be decided by the Scientific Committee on the basis of interested delegates in order to enrich the discussion.
The organizers would like to stress that participation in DG does not require extensive knowledge and experience. All that members of DG are expected to be willing to get new experience and meet people from other countries and institutions and possibly develop new contacts.
The organizers hope that once you decide to take part in a DG, you will participate in all the 5 scheduled DG in the programme; in order to further motivate the participants, the Scientific Committee, at the end of the Symposium, will award a small gift to each participant that will have taken part to all the 5 scheduled DG. Available seats are limited, don’t miss your chance, but please do not register for the DG if you are not interested, leave place to your more interested colleagues!
